Rev. Dr. Sam Edem is a seasoned pastor, educator and organisational leader with decades of dedicated service in ministry, education and community development.

Born on September 7, 1964, in Okossi, Urue Offong Oruko Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, Rev. Dr. Sam Edem has built a life centred on spiritual growth, leadership and service to humanity.

He received his foundational education between 1977 and 1983, obtaining his First School Leaving Certificate and General Certificate of Education (GCE). In 1984, he gave his life to Christ, marking the beginning of a lifelong commitment to Christian service and ministry.

Shortly after his conversion in 1984, Rev. Dr. Sam Edem began serving as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader. By 1985, he had become the Sunday School Superintendent at the Methodist Church Nigeria, Oyubia Circuit.

In 1988, he received a divine call into full-time gospel ministry and became the General Overseer of Victorious Life Mission, a position he faithfully held until 2008.

In pursuit of theological and professional development, he obtained a Diploma in Theology from the Christian Leadership and Missions Institute, Nigeria, in 1993. Between 1994 and 1996, he served as a classroom teacher in Urue Offong Oruko, Akwa Ibom State. In 1996, his spiritual journey deepened when he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

He further advanced his educational qualifications by obtaining a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) from the National Teachers Institute, Calabar, in 2006.

Alongside his ministerial responsibilities, he served as Headmaster of Essuabana International School, Calabar, from 2004 to 2008.

In 2008, after concluding his leadership at Victorious Life Mission, he joined The Souls Harvesters Ministries and entered a new phase of ministry. He served as Branch Pastor at Souls Harvesters Church, Evboligun, Benin, from 2008 to 2012.

He continued his academic pursuits, earning a Bachelor of Religious Studies from Nations University, Louisiana, in 2009. Between 2009 and 2010, he also served as Headmaster of Auntie Bethel Nursery and Primary School, Benin.

With a passion for Christ-centred education, he founded Kathy Preparatory School in Benin, where he served from 2010 to 2012. From 2012 to 2016, he served as an Area Supervisor in Port Harcourt. During this period, he also established Great Hope International School in Port Harcourt, serving from 2013 to 2016.

Rev. Dr. Sam Edem earned a Master of Divinity from Vision Theological Seminary, Rivers State, in 2014, and a PhD in Theology from El-Shaddai Christian University, Port Harcourt, in 2016.

In recognition of his commitment, exceptional service and leadership, he was appointed Director of Church Ministries at The Souls Harvesters Ministries National Headquarters in 2016. In this capacity, he has played an important role in guiding and coordinating the growth and development of church branches and ministries.

Rev. Dr. Sam Edem is married to Kate, his supportive partner in ministry, and they are blessed with six children. He is widely recognised for his pastoral leadership, unwavering commitment to the work of God's Kingdom, impactful preaching and passion for mentoring and raising others.

His areas of ministry and leadership experience include spiritual counselling, church administration, educational leadership, community outreach, strategic planning and staff development.

In 2026, Rev. Dr. Sam Edem was appointed to serve as the General Overseer of The Souls Harvesters Ministries Inc., marking a new chapter of leadership and expanded responsibility within the ministry.
